Deepen Global Medical Cooperation! International Training Bridges Health for All
On the morning of October 17, the opening ceremony of the first training course of the China International Training Academy of Gastric Surgery (CINTAGAS) at Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital (The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University & Jiangsu Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital) was successfully held in Conference Room 4, 8th Floor, Building 12.
Initiated by the team led by Professor Xu Zekuan from the Gastric Cancer Center of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, this session brings together outstanding surgeons from Sudan, Spain, Chile and other countries. It aims to facilitate academic exchanges and promote the latest advances and therapeutic technologies in the field of gastric surgery through professional training.
Ding Qiang, Party Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, highlighted the hospital’s proactive efforts in cultivating international medical talents and advancing global medical cooperation and exchanges. He noted that the training course serves not only as an academic exchange platform, but also as a key initiative for the hospital to expand international medical cooperation and elevate its global influence.
"It is hoped that all participants will make full use of this platform to engage in extensive learning and in-depth exchanges, continuously improve their professional expertise, and better serve patients across the globe," he said.
Professor Xu Zekuan stated that the international training course is designed to share and exchange the latest standardized treatment technologies for gastric cancer, enhance the diagnosis and treatment capabilities of specialized physicians, and demonstrate the hospital’s commitment to advancing international medical cooperation and nurturing global medical professionals.
Zhang Qianze from Mindray Medical expressed the hope that the training course will boost the integration and sharing of advanced medical technologies at home and abroad, accelerate the training of surgical professionals, spread cutting-edge medical technologies to countries and regions worldwide, and deliver higher-quality medical services to local patients.
At the opening ceremony, Secretary Ding Qiang, Professor Xu Zekuan and Zhang Qianze jointly unveiled the plaque for the China International Training Academy of Gastric Surgery, marking a solid step forward for Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital in international medical cooperation.
Lasting for two months, the training program covers a rich curriculum, including experience sharing on radical gastrectomy at the Gastric Cancer Center, observations of outpatient services and MDT multidisciplinary joint clinics, hands-on training in standardized radical gastric cancer surgeries (laparoscopic and robotic procedures), ward rotations and discussions on difficult cases, study tours of the Endoscopy Center and Department of Pathology, as well as specialized training on gastrointestinal stromal tumors.
Following the opening ceremony, participants immediately proceeded to the operating rooms for on-site observation, embarking on an intensive and fulfilling learning journey.
Moving forward, Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital will continue to implement the Open Hospital Development Strategy, further promote international medical cooperation and exchanges, enhance its global reputation, and contribute to the development of the global medical cause.
